Georgia Five Review

This is the third game in America that involves the selection of a single five-digit number, after Quinto in Pennsylvania and DC-5 in Washington, D.C. But unlike these games, this is not simply a 5-digit version of the common pick-3 and pick-4, but rather a version more similar to the add-on games popular in Canada and Europe, such as Ontario's Encore, Quebec's Extra, Ohio's Kicker, and the like. Hence, this game has much better odds of winning. While the top prize still has odds of winning of 1 in 100,000, the overall odds are about 1 in 5.

You can win by matching all 5 digits in order, or by matching either the first 1, 2, 3, or 4 digits, or the last 1, 2, 3, or 4 digits, again in order. It is also possible to win twice, for example if you match both the first and last digits, you win $2, $1 for the first, and $1 for the last. Or if you match the first digit, and the last 3 digits, you would win $21, $1 for the first digit, and $20 for the last 3. Just remember, if you don't match either the first or last digit, you don't win, even you match some or all of the middle digits.

All and all, this is a good game, leaps and bounds better than Quinto. Granted some would like the long-shot options offered in Quinto, but this game offers enough for me. If PA offered a play option like this for Quinto, I would play it, but until then, I'll just have to go to Georgia. You did good, Margaret, you did good.

Score: 4.2/5
